Hula in the Vatican

And now the Vatican sees that hula can be a prayerful, reverent act.

Thank you, St. Damien

Regarding bishop’s role

I read your “Post Canonization Notes and Commentary” (Oct. 30 issue) with great interest. I just wish to make the following observation.

Bishop Larry Silva was not one of the 10 concelebrants with the Holy Father. He was part of the episcopal contingent who were invited to join him in the Mass of canonization.

The 10 concelebrants were members of the Institute or Congregation whose member was being canonized in this special liturgical event. Five of the 10 were members of Damien’s Congregation of the Sacred Hearts: Javier Alvarez Ossorio, superior general; Enrique Losada, past superior general; Emilio Dela Vega, former postulator for the cause of Damien; Frans Gorissen, provincial of Belgium; and Christopher Keahi, provincial of Hawaii.
