Theologian to speak at Chaminade on Eucharist

Father David Power, professor emeritus of the School of Theology and Religious Studies at Catholic University of America, will give a free talk in the Mystical Rose Oratory on the campus of Chaminade University of Honolulu and Saint Louis School at 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 15, entitled “Eucharist and the Church’s Prophetic Mission.”

Father Power, a priest of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, will discuss how the church draws inspiration from its character as a Eucharistic community and is called to be prophetic in today’s culture and society.

The talk is a part of the Father Robert Mackey lecture series sponsored by Saint Louis School, the Marianist Center of Hawaii and Chaminade University. The late Father Mackey was one of the founders of Chaminade.

For more information about the lecture, call Marianist Brother Dennis Schmitz at (808) 735-4801.
