LaVerne Chow named district deputy of Hawaii’s YLI
 
The Young Ladies Institute grand president DeMova Barrett has appointed LaVerne Lei Chow as district deputy of the organization’s Hawaii District 22 for the July 2007-June 2008 term.

District officers are advisor Mary Wuscher, secretary Rosalie Smith, treasurer Betty Akeo, publicity chair Marjorie Gomes and coordinator Judy Giacobello.

The institute deputies for the year are Evelyn Cabral for Ana Malia No. 208 and Philomena Raqua for Kailua No 213.

The Young Ladies Institute is an organization of Catholic women in Hawaii, California, Washington and Oregon. Its purpose is to be of service to its members, church and community and provide monetary support toward the education of seminarians.
