Academy names new directors, business manager

Sacred Hearts Academy named three new members to its board of directors last month and hired a news business manager.

The Kaimuki all-girls pre-K-12 school appointed Sacred Hearts Father Lane Akiona, Rena Hwang and Clarence Liu as new directors, and Randy Iwashita as business manager.

Father Akiona is pastor of St. Augustine Church in Waikiki. Hwang, an Academy graduate, is an executive assistant to Constance H. Lau, chairman, president and CEO of American Savings Bank. Liu is a clinical chaplain for Pacific Health Ministry and the director of patient and family services for Hospice Hawaii.

Iwashita was a comptroller at TeamPraxis LLC, a medical billing company, and at the University of Hawaii Federal Credit Union.

The board of directors set school operating policies, maintain its financial health and determine long-range planning.

Iwashita will be responsible for school accounting, financial management and supervision of human resources.
