St. Louis names new deans

President of Saint Louis School Walter S. Kirimitsu recently announced the following new administrative appointments for the school which go into effect Aug. 1:

Raymond Abregano will be dean of faculty, a new position. His new duties include serving as faculty liaison with the administration. He will report directly to the principal, Russell Valente. Abregano will also continue to be the school registrar.

Sione Thompson, a 1999 Saint Louis graduate and former high school social studies teacher, will be dean of students, responsible for implementing safety and discipline policies including the revised Student Code of Conduct.

Kendrick Kakazu is the new Director of Lower School. St. Louis’ fourth grade teacher for the past three years, and a founding member of the Lower School faculty, Kakazu has degrees in English from the University of Michigan and special education from Chaminade University of Honolulu.

English teacher Kevin Allen has been appointed librarian, a position he had held at Chaminade University. He has a B.A. in history from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a master’s degree in pastoral theology from Chaminade.

Suzanne Langford, Ph.D., will be the school’s first Dean of Curriculum, Instruction and Research Development, providing St. Louis with research and grant development, curriculum planning and evaluation, and faculty professional development.

Liza Lee joined St. Louis in June as the associate director of the Office of Institutional Advancement. She will facilitate donor relations, fundraising events and giving programs.
