BVM Sister taught on Kauai for 10 years

Former Kauai teacher Sister Raymunda Clark, a Sister of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM), died June 27, in Dubuque, Iowa. She was 96.

Sister Raymunda taught at St. Catherine School in Kealia, Kauai, from 1946 to 1956. She also taught in California, Montana, Nebraska and Illinois.

Sister Raymunda was born April 9, 1911, in San Francisco. She entered the BVM congregation on Sept. 9, 1929, professed first vows on Aug. 15, 1931, and her final vows on Aug. 15, 1937.

She is survived by nieces and nephews and the Sisters of Charity, BVM, with whom she shared life for 77 years.

Her funeral and burial was July 2. Memorials may be given to the Sisters of Charity, BVM Retirement Fund, 1100 Carmel Drive, Dubuque, IA 52003, 563-588-2351, www.bvmcong .org.
