The Hawaii Island Food Bank will unveil its new name and logo on June 9, during a luncheon program at Ken’s House of Pancakes. The four Big Island students who helped to create the new identification will be acknowledged.
The presentation of the new name, logo and tagline of the 17-year-old program of the Office for Social Ministry will be made by the bank’s chairman Barry Taniguchi, executive director Carol R. Ignacio and the organization’s new board and advisors.
The overall first place winner for logo and name is Tiara Inoue, a seventh grader at St. Joseph Jr./Sr. High School.
Tied for first place for the name is Kawehi Iopa-Baring, a Keaau Middle School eighth grader.
Winning second place for the logo is Ivory Espaniola, an eighth grader at Hilo Intermediate.
The third place winners were Rebekah Duncan, Konawaena High School, grade 11, for name, and Chelsea Pacheco, Hilo Intermediate, grade 8, for logo.
