St. Francis appoints new administrative coordinator

St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii has named Sister of St. Francis Ellen McClure of Pittsburgh as its administrative coordinator.

Her duties include grant writing and working with programs for seniors such as Franciscan Adult Day Center and Franciscan Vistas Ewa, a master-planned community. She will also chair St. Francis’ Leadership Development Committee.

A member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Millvale, Penn., Sister Ellen most recently served as a home health care and hospice nurse in Pittsburgh. Her background is in seminary education, hospital administration, congregational leadership, and nursing.

Previous positions include vice president for mission and ministry at St. Francis Health System in Pittsburgh, dean of students and community services at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, director of Emmanuel House of Prayer in Iowa City, Iowa, and director of Mt. Alvernia Spiritual Life Center in Pittsburgh.

Sister Ellen has a registered nursing degree from the St. Francis School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, bachelor’s degree in nursing from Marquette University, master’s degree in theology from Providence College, and a master’s degree in community and agency counseling from the California University of Pennsylvania.
