Chinese Catholic Ministry to celebrate Chinese New Year Feb. 18 at Star of the Sea

The Chinese Catholic Ministry of Honolulu will celebrate the Chinese New Year on Sunday, Feb. 18, at Star of the Sea Church in Waialae-Kahala.

The celebration begins with the annual God  Thanksgiving and Ancestral Tribute Mass at 11:45 a.m. with vicar general Marc Alexander as presider and homilist, followed by a luncheon in the cafeteria with fireworks and a Lion Dance.

Because of the limited seats, participants are required to sign up and get a ticket. Tickets are free and will be available after Mass on Feb. 10 and 11 at the entrance of the church. Donations are welcome.

The Chinese New Year Bazaar will be held Feb 10 and 11, after each Mass on the lanai of the parish social hall. For more information, call Kristine at 737-1818, or Cecilia at 373-4241/216-1091.
