Bishop Silva to preside at April 11 Divine Mercy event

Bishop Larry Silva will preside at a Divine Mercy Holy Hour and the Hour of Mercy Prayer and Mass in the afternoon of Divine Mercy Sunday, April 11, the Second Sunday of Easter, at Star of the Sea Church in Waialae-Kahala starting at 2:15 p.m. The pastor, Blessed Sacrament Father Mark del Rosario, will concelebrate. All are welcome.

The Divine Mercy Assembly begins at 2 p.m., the Divine Mercy Holy Hour with the bishop begins at 2:15 p.m., and the Hour of Mercy Prayer and Mass begins at 3 p.m.

At 4 p.m. will be the blessing of the Divine Mercy images.

A Divine Mercy novena will be prayed over the nine days prior to the Mercy Sunday at Blessed Sacrament Church in Pauoa Valley. Each “hour of mercy preparation for the Feast of Divine Mercy” will begin at 2:45 p.m., from April 2 until April 10.

On April 2 and 3, Good Friday and Holy Saturday, the hour will consist of the novena and prayers only. From April 4 to April 10, the novena will include a Mass.

Images of Divine Mercy and other religious items will be available for purchase at the novena site. The proceeds will go to Bishop Silva’s diocesan projects.

On April 23, 2006, Bishop Silva dedicated the Diocese of Honolulu to Divine Mercy.
