 Enrichment Day offers 6 workshops Minimize
Enrichment Day offers 6 workshops

The Big Island’s West Hawaii Vicariate is offering six workshops on topics ranging from Scripture to domestic violence for its Enrichment Day, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 13, at Annunciation Church in Waimea.

Registration is at 8 a.m. followed by Mass at 9 a.m.

The morning workshop (A) starts at 10:15 a.m. and the afternoon workshop (B) starts at 12:30 p.m. Each workshop topic is offered both in the morning and afternoon. Lunch is at 11:45 a.m. The day ends with a prayer service at 2:15 p.m.

Here are the workshop descriptions:

n   The Creed: Profession of Faith in the Paschal Mystery — A look at how the Paschal Mystery is expressed in the Creed and it is lived in the liturgy, by Sister Helene Wood, SSCC, director of the Diocesan Office of Worship.

n   Beginning Scripture — How to begin a relationship with Jesus through the study of Scripture, by Deacon Tom Adams, deacon at Sacred Heart Parish, Hawi.

n   Our Youngest Outcasts: The Effects of Homelessness on Children — The many risks of homelessness to children’s future wellbeing, by Carol Ignacio, director, Office for Social Ministry.

n   Developing Your Leadership Effectiveness — A thought-provoking, interactive exploration of leadership, by Keith Tamashiro.

n   Why and How on the Big Island — Examining domestic violence, bullying in school, abuse of the senior citizen, by Lillian Tavares, coordinator, Domestic Violence/Sex Assault Victim Services.

n   Persona De Jesús Cristo — A session in Spanish on the person of Jesus Christ, by Father John Fredy Quintero, chaplain, Hispanic ministry, Big Island, and Father Wilson Buitrago, chaplain, Hispanic ministry, Maui.
