Diocese organizing Filipino priests association Minimize
Diocese organizing Filipino priests association

Father Peter Dumag, the diocesan director of vocations, is inviting all “priests of Filipino heritage” working in Hawaii to join the newly formed Filipino Priests Association of Hawaii or FPAH.

Hawaii has about 35 priests of Filipino heritage, about one third the total number of active priests here.

The association’s next meeting is 9 a.m.-noon, April 12, at St. John the Apostle and Evangelist Church, Mililani, with lunch to follow.

Membership, though, is not limited to Filipinos. According to his announcement in the diocesan e-newsletter last week, Father Dumag said, “any other priest ministering in the Diocese of Honolulu can join.”

The announcement said that the group has been formed “in response to a national effort to organize the Filipino priests ministering in the United States.”

For more information, contact Father Dumag at (808) 585-3355 or at manao @rcchawaii.org.
