Chaminade University of Honolulu has received a $250,000 award from the Mary D. and Walter F. Frear Eleemosynary Trust last month to construct an “introductory wet laboratory.”
The laboratory, designed for beginning and intermediate level experiments in biology, chemistry and forensic sciences, will be an important part of the university’s larger science renovation project in Henry Hall.
Chaminade began renovation of its science facilities about a year ago. The entire renovation calls for eight faculty offices, three classrooms with computers, rooms for specialized analytic equipment, seven labs and a common gathering area.
The university is also be adding new science courses and faculty members, and opportunities to participate in mainland training and research programs.
