Benedictines celebrating 25 years in the islands

The Benedictine Monastery of Hawaii is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the order’s arrival in Hawaii with a celebration on March 21.

Benedictine Sister Celeste “CC” Cabral said of her order’s milestone in an announcement, “We have been so blessed by the love, aloha and support of the people of the Hawaiian Islands. We give thanks to Almighty God, for his love endures forever.”

Registration begins Saturday, March 21 at 9 a.m. with a 10:30 a.m. Mass and lunch to follow. Kids are welcome and activities for them are being planned. The monastery is encouraging people to carpool or park at St. Michael’s Church in Waialua in order to be shuttled up to the monastery.
