Pastor prays over bishop

Rev. Cal Chinen, senior pastor of Moanalua Gardens Missionary Church, puts his hand on Bishop Larry Silva’s shoulder as he prays over him during E Pule Kakou, a Thanksgiving eve prayer service, Nov. 27, at the Hawaii State Capitol. Rev. Chinen organized the event which was observed in 150 Christian places of worship around the state. The evening event at the capitol brought together around 250 people. According to one observer, the highlight of the service took part when Protestants prayed over Catholics and vice versa. E Pule Kakou means “Let Us Pray.”
