Friends of Nakamoto garage sale to benefit cancer research

Friends of the late Norman Nakamoto, former director of the Catholic Youth Organization, will have a “garage sale” and silent auction, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., on June 7, on the Punchbowl Holy Ghost grounds at 1774 Puowaina Drive in Honolulu.

The Friends of Norman Garage Sale will feature household items and other treasures from Nakamoto’s home and other things collected through his network of friends.

All the proceeds from the sale will go to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital cancer research. Nakamoto died on Sept. 8, 2007, from cancer.

He was also the parish relations and special projects director for Catholic Charities Hawaii.
