Musician to speak, sing at WYD Hawaii

Internationally known sacred musician and performer Vince Ambrosetti will be in Hawaii July 18-20 to speak and lead the music at WYD Hawaii, the local event at St. Stephen Diocesan Center corresponding to World Youth Day in Sydney, Australia.

Ambrosetti, a professed Secular Franciscan since 1971, is the founder of International Liturgy Publications, the oldest free-standing non-profit Catholic publisher of sacred music.

He was named Catholic Artist of the Year in December 2001, and his music has earned him seven other Unity awards.

He sang his song “Sanctuary” during Communion at Mother Teresa’s funeral in Calcutta, India, and performed for Pope John Paul II.

Ambrosetti has given more than 500 missions across the United States, including two in 2004 at the Kaneohe Bay Marine Base, and at St. George Parish in Waimanalo. He will be available to lead two parish missions in the two weeks following WYD Hawaii. For information, e-mail sharon@ilpmusic.org or call 615-599-4497.
