St. Francis names director of new ‘Stay Healthy at Home Program’

Hawaii Catholic Herald

St. Francis Residential Care Community, a subsidiary of St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii, has named former home care supervisor Jacob Silva as program director. He will develop “Stay Healthy at Home,” a new program designed to enable older adults to maintain their health and independence at home for as long as possible.

Silva has 18 years of clinical and managerial experience in the military and private sectors in California and Hawaii. Since June 2006, he has served as nursing supervisor of St. Francis Home Care Services.

He also worked at Kaiser Permanente and Tripler Army Medical Center. He continues to serve as an Army Nurse in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Stay Healthy at Home, a one-stop resource and referral program for services for older adults and people with chronic diseases, is being introduced at the Honuakaha Elderly Apartments. It will be a core component of St. Francis Residential Care Community’s proposed model community, Franciscan Vistas Ewa.
