Mass for scouts

During Scout Sunday Mass on Feb. 24 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa in Honolulu, Cub Scout Jarrett Stickney, 8, of Holy Family Catholic Academy’s Pack 186, receives the Communion cup from Neil Nitta, a committee member of the Diocese of Honolulu’s Catholic Committee on Scouting (DHCCS). Forty people attended the 12:30 p.m. Mass, which was presided over by DHCCS’s spiritual director, Father Peter Dumag. After several years without a diocese-wide Scout Sunday Mass, the committee hopes the gathering will become an annual tradition again.
