Filipino Catholic Club to conduct St. Joseph novena Minimize
Filipino Catholic Club to conduct St. Joseph novena

St. Elizabeth, Aiea, Filipino Catholic Club will conduct a nine-day novena in honor of St. Joseph the Laborer, 7 p.m., March 7-15 in the church hall in room 5 and at other times and locations.

St. Joseph was chosen as the patron of Hawaii’s Filipino Catholic Clubs in 1950, for all the Filipinos who immigrated to Hawaii as “sakadas” — field and plantation workers.

The novena would normally end on the Feast of St. Joseph, March 19, but that day falls in Holy Week this year, so the feast was moved to the Saturday before.

On March 8 the novena will be conducted after Stations of the Cross at St. Anthony Retreat Center in Kalihi Valley.

The novena on Sunday, March 9, at 9:15 a.m. in the church hall, followed by the Oahu Council of Filipino Catholic Clubs Recollection Day at 1:30 p.m. at St. Roch Church in Kahuku.

On March 14, the novena follows the Stations after the 6:30 p.m. Mass. The novena ends on Saturday, March 15 after the 6 p.m. Mass.

Call Lourdes for more information 422-5880.
