Chaminade University offers parish, high school, half-tuition scholarships Minimize
Chaminade University offers parish, high school, half-tuition scholarships

Chaminade University of Honolulu has two unique scholarship programs that will pay half the tuition for a potential 73 incoming Hawaii freshmen this fall – one for every parish in Hawaii and one for every Catholic high school.
  • Chaminade Parish Scholarship: awarded to new first-year students who are recommended by a Hawaii parish and nominated by their pastor.
  • Chaminade Catholic Scholarship: awarded to new first-year students who are recommended by a Hawaii Catholic high school and nominated by their high school principal.

The scholarships cover one-half of the full-time day tuition at Chaminade and are renewable for a maximum of four years provided the student is in good academic standing, is enrolled full-time and participates in community service events of approximately 20 hours during each semester of attendance at Chaminade University.

Hawaii has 66 parishes and seven Catholic high schools. Usually, only one student per parish and one student per high school can be recommended. However, exceptions may be permitted.

Nominations should be submitted before the start of the semester for which the student intends to enroll. For more information, contact Martin Motooka, assistant director of Admissions at Chaminade University, by email mmotooka@chaminade.edu or phone (808) 739-4650 or toll free (800) 735-3733 ext. 650.
