Jesuit Father Philip Chircop will be the main speaker at the 2008 annual conference for Catholic Educators, Feb. 1, in the Neal Blaisdell Arena following the 8:15 a.m. opening Mass.
Father Marc Alexander, vicar general, will preside at the liturgy.
At the end of Mass, service awards will be presented to 14 school educators who have served in Hawaii Catholic schools for 20, 30 and 40 years. Here are those to be honored:

Father Chircop’s ministry is spirituality. He directs retreats, workshops and seminars internationally on a variety of topics. He lives in Canada.
Father Chircop is originally from Malta where he served as an associate pastor, a Prefect of Studies at a Jesuit high school, and chaplain at the State University of Malta. He has a master’s degree in spirituality and a licentiate in pastoral theology and communications.
His talk, which begins in the arena at 10:30 a.m., is titled “Surf and Turf Towards a Spirituality for Educators.” The conference ends at noon.
