Church break for Walk the Talk
For the third year Hawaii Helping the Hungry Have Hope sponsored a 10-day walk around Oahu to raise awareness about homelessness in Hawaii. From Nov. 7-16, eight core walkers were joined by more than 80 supporters for various legs of “Walk the Talk — Shelter the People.” Before a closing rally at the state capitol on Nov. 16, the walkers stopped at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace for a short rest, group photo, above, and prayer service led by Parish Social Ministry co-director Sister Roselani Enomoto. Left, St. Joseph School students smile as they participate in the fifth day of the walk on Nov. 11. Thirty-seven students and seven parents and teachers walked three miles from Sunset Beach to St. Peter and Paul Mission in Waimea. | Posted on Friday, November 30, 2007 (Archive on Friday, December 28, 2007) Posted by pdownes Contributed by pdownes
